Pet Wellness

Your pet's good health starts at home. We believe that prevention and early detection of illnesses are the keys to a long and successful relationship with your pet. A high quality diet catered to your pet's individual needs is an important start to a healthy lifestyle.

Because our pets age so much faster than we do, health status may change and individual needs may vary widely during one calendar year. For this reason, examinations of your pet are needed at least twice yearly. Full semi-annual examinations will evaluate your pet from the outside, while semi-annual blood work will check your pet from the inside. At the semi-annual exams, our friendly staff will discuss current medical issues and go over at home pet care like year long monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We can show you how to brush your pet's teeth once daily and recommend a flavored pet toothpaste.

Prevention is the best medicine and yearly dental cleanings can prevent severe gum disease and systemic bacterial infections. Because our pets have evolved to hide signs of severe illness, often bloodwork will detect problems before any symptoms can even be noticed. If problems are detected early, we are more likely to treat them more successfully. Not all dogs and cats are the same and should not all be treated the same medically. Our doctors and staff will treat you and your pets as individuals and help develop a vaccination protocol and home health plan specifically designed for your pet's lifestyle.
